This is the most accurate thing of my life.
Am I the only one who notices that the thinnest one has her mouth open more? Meaning that she’s talking/yelling/manipulating you into being thinner and thinner…
the thinnest one is also pointing at the viewer, almost to say “you’re next” or “you’re just as bad”
Hmm I feel like I’m seeing something a little different.
I see the workings of an eating disorder, personified. The skinny girls are TOO skinny. They have the faces like that because they are a disease. They are the embodiment of anorexia themselves, and they are pulling the girl in the middle towards them, trying to drag her into it. They might even be saying all of those things said above, how she is fat and needs to be skinnier, but notice how the girl in the middle really isn’t that fat, actually she looks pretty normal. However, that doesn’t matter, because it can grab you no matter how thin you really are, because whatever you’ve convinced yourself to be in your head is what you will see when you look in the mirror, no matter what anyone says.
So yeah I don’t see this as a “thin girls vs. fat girls” drawing, but I do see it as a meaningful look at how a psychological disorder can pull you in.
